Klinger ~ Kinter Photos

We have many photos from my grandparents, and my mothers, collection. We'll post as many as possible, but you can also visit the family photo directory.

My mother's siblings were, an older brother, Russell. A younger brother, Richard (Dick). And, a little sister, Betty.

The Edwin and Irene Collection

ECK (00) This photo was reported to be the home of Johann Phillip Klinger Home in Germany. Johann is my maternal 6th great grandparents, Johann Phillip Klinger and Eva Elizabeth Beilstein. our Klinger Colonial patriarch; my grandfather's, Edwin Klinger’s, 4th great-grandfather.

ECK (01C) We belive this is a photo of Charles Edwin Klinger Jr., and two of his brothers. Charles was born in 1874, William in 1878, Albert in 1883, Harry in 1886, and James in 1889.

WEK (00) This is a photo, circa 1907, of William Elmer Klinger, my grandpa Klinger's uncle. With William is his wife, Serilda Pearl House, and their 1st child, Glen R. Klinger, who was born about 1906.

ECK (01D) The only photo in our collection of my great grandfather, Charles Klinger Jr.

ECK (02B) My mother was not able to communicate during the remaining years of her life, and wasn’t able to identify the people in this photo. But, the boy on the left looks like my mother’s bother Russell, and the man on the right resembles my grandfather Ed Klinger.

-- Clyde is Clyde Wrightstone who in 1938 would have been 22 years old. Stamped on the back: James Lett Co., Jul 7 1938.

ECK (12A) is Betty Klinger, and ECK (12C) is Betty with her mom, Irene Wrightstone-Klinger, and ECK (12D) is Betty Klinger holding the dog in the back to the left is Julia Wrightstone, in the middle is Hattie Arnold-Wrightstone, and right is Irene Wrightstone-Klinger. Julia and Irene are sisters, and their mother is Hattie.

My mother lived in Mechanicsburg, and attended the Mechanicsburg High School, where she garduated from on May 28th 1946.

She baby sat many of the local childrean, and after graduation went to work at the newly formed Naval Base.

It was at the base she met my father's mother, Ruth Graham, from Franklintown, who also worked at the base. It was through this connection my mother met my dad, Bob Graham.

1945 to 1947 High School Period

DIK (01). and DIK (01A), was taken on May 24th 1946 of Dottie Klinger in her high school graduation cap and gown. DIK (01B) is what she wrote on the back of the photo.

DIK (02) These are just a few photos from the same roll of film of Dottie's friends. Wish I had her tell me who they are. Some are also in mom's graduation photo collection. DIK (02A), DIK (02C), DIK (02G), and DIK (02H).

I would bet it's a wife of one of the Wrightstone boys: Harvey's wife Lavina, Clyde's wife Hazel, Ralph's wife Florence, Raymond's wife Francis, or James's wife Darthey, not it's not Dororthy.
